Online applications: what two years of the platform changed

More files received, measurable turnaround times, and above all an end to requests lost in an inbox.

Before the platform, requests arrived through every imaginable channel: social media messages, letters, phone calls, intermediaries. Many were lost. Some people followed up ten times without ever knowing whether their file had been read.

The first effect of online applications was to make things measurable. We know how many requests arrive, how many are incomplete, how long each stage takes. What can be measured can be improved: the average review time has fallen markedly since launch.

The second effect is less visible but more important: equal treatment. A well-built application from someone we do not know follows exactly the same path as any other. That was the main goal.

Limits remain. Not everyone we would like to reach has stable internet access, and an online form assumes you can write up a project. We work with partner associations to support those who need help.
